Title Telephone care coordination for smokers in mental health clinics

Description:This study will implement a smoking cessation telephone care coordination program for patients in VA mental health clinics, a very high-risk smoking population. The program has previously been successful in primary care clinics, and this study represents the first test of how effective it will be in mental health clinics.

Title Multi-Site RCT for BP Control in HTN African Americans (CAATCH)

Description:This five-year project, funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), will test the effect on BP control, of a multi-component, multi-level intervention targeted at clinicians and 1058 hypertensive black patients, who receive care in 30 community-based primary care practices. The long-term goal of this project is to refine the intervention as a result of the data obtained and to develop a standardized protocol that can be integrated into the usual care procedures, thereby maximizing the likelihood that the intervention will be translated into practice at each of the participating Community Health Centers.

Description:The goal of ABC CiTI is to bridge the language barrier between limited English proficient (LEP) patients and physicians. Description:The primary objective of this study is to determine whether the addition of individual drug counseling to the prescription of Buprenorphine/Naloxone (BUP/NX) with Standard Medical Management (SMM) for subjects dependent on prescription opioid analgesics improves outcome both during (a) an initial 4-week treatment with taper and (b) a 12-week stabilization treatment for those who do not respond successfully to the initial treatment with taper.
