Dr. Shah's research interests include improving the quality of care for vulnerable and limited English-proficiency patients, and advancing patient self-care of chronic conditions using electronic patient portals to medical records. His early work centered on research methods in epidemiology, and he has published several meta-analyses and comparative pieces on randomized trials versus observational studies. He is the Principal Investigator of NIH and RWJ Foundation grants and has served on three committees for the American College of Physicians.
