Mitchell Charap, M.D. is the Abraham Sunshine Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Associate Chair of the Department of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine. Dr Charap earned his M.D. from NYU, and completed his internship and residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital and the NYU School of Medicine

Dr. Charap was the Program Director of the Residency Training Program in Internal Medicine until he stepped down in 2005. Dr. Charap continues to be involved in graduate medical education as director of the medical consult service at Bellevue Hospital and clinical educator in a variety of venues. His research interests have focused on the effect of recent changes in residency training on physician development. Dr. Charap is a practicing general internist.
