The National Library of Medicine has awarded a $398,121 grant to Dr. Marc Triola to pilot online health information delivery software.
Preventive health is a central component of primary care, often comprising a significant portion of the patient visit. Yet with the escalating proliferation of evidence-based guidelines, documentation and quality-related demands, and ever-increasing outpatient acuity, prioritizing and ensuring the delivery of preventive services has become an increasingly challenging task.
The overall goal of this project is to create and pilot a secure, Web services-based architecture for representing preventive health information and decision support. The end result of the project will be a user friendly, vendor-neutral architecture that will facilitate compliance with preventive health guidelines. It is also hoped that this will, in the long term, also improve outcomes.
