
Jennifer Friedberg, Ph.D., Instructor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and Health Science Specialist at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, has been awarded a Scientist Development Award from the American Heart Association to improve care in patients who have had a past stroke or transient ischemic attack.
This study, titled “The PREVENTS Trial: The Preventing Recurrent Events in Veterans Navigating TIA or Stroke Trial” will test whether a behaviorally tailored intervention can improve adherence to treatment recommendations in these patients.
Dr. Friedberg is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (Health Emphasis). She has served as the lead interventionist on Sundar Natarajan’s VA Merit Review grant to improve hypertension control in veterans for the past 2 years.
