Dr. Weintraub’s primary clinical and research interests are centered around Preventative Cardiology, with a focus on the treatment and evaluation of lipid disorders (reducing elevated LDL-C and Triglycerides and increasing HDL-C), hypertension and global issues in the Metabolic Syndrome and Type II DM. He has worked with colleagues at the Lipid Center (Drs. Fisher, Schloss and Schwartzbard) in studies on the impact of combined statin and CETP antagonist, Endocannabinoid receptor antagonism, use of PPAR gamma agonists and a study soon to be initiated on the impact of fixed combination therapy for hypertension and elevated lipids on clinical outcomes and Carotid IMT.
