Cardiovascular Fellowship Training

The ACGME-approved training programs sponsored by the Division of Cardiology are designed to prepare the most highly motivated and talented individuals for careers in academic cardiology. Accordingly, applicants should be firmly committed to pursuing a rigorous clinical training experience that incorporates significant exposure to and participation in cardiovascular investigation.

Training Program in Cardiovascular Disease

Clinician-Educator Pathway
For those individuals envisioning a career that focuses primarily on evidence-based patient care and education, the traditional three-year Clinician-Educator Pathway should be considered.

Physician-Investigator Pathway
Candidates who seek more intensive clinical, translational or basic research training as a component of their fellowship training and are contemplating careers as independent cardiovascular investigators should consider the extended training available in our Physician-Investigator Pathway. The most promising trainees in this Pathway will be eligible to participate in our NIH Sponsored T32 Training Program in Cardiovascular Sciences.
