NYU Cardiology Associates
The faculty group practice of the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology.
Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States. NYU Cardiology Associates provide consultative cardiac services for patients with the full range of known or suspected cardiovascular disorders.
Our clinicians are full-time faculty members of NYU School of Medicine and recognized experts in the diagnosis and management of common as well as complex forms of heart and vascular diseases. As full-time faculty, our cardiologists are involved in a broad range of clinical research studies seeking to define the optimum therapy for patients with established or suspected cardiovascular disease, offering patients novel therapies not widely available. In addition, our cardiologists work closely with physicians in our Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease to identify cardiovascular risk factors and minimize those that are amenable to modification, such as hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and diabetes.
For those patients with problems requiring non-pharmacological treatment, our clinicians work closely with interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists in our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Heart Rhythm Center. These individuals, also faculty of the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology, perform state-of-the-art invasive procedures including:
