The NYU Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology is in the midst of an exciting transition from what has been a highly clinically oriented faculty to one that much more strongly encompasses the full academic spectrum from basic bench research through translational research to patient care.

The infrastructure, personnel, and funding that will enable us to perform research more effectively are increasingly in place. Patient care drives everything we do; but to deliver the best care possible, we need to push forward with cutting-edge investigation.

You can pick which is horse and which is cart, but it's really a circle. If we want our patients to get the best care, we have to be the ones doing the smartest, best research and the best training.
