Edward Fisher receives Special Recognition
Award from AHA

Edward Fisher, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Edward Fisher, the Leon H. Charney Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Director of the Marc and Ruti Bell Vascular Biology and Disease Program and the NYU Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, has received a Special Recognition Award in Arteriosclerosis by the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology (ATVB) Council of the American Heart Association.  

This award is presented to a Council member who has made major contributions to the affairs of a Scientific Council over a continuing period of time and substantial professional contributions to the field.

Dr. Fisher currently serves as an Associate Editor of ATVB, a major journal in vascular biology published by the AHA.  He is a leading expert in the production of the lipoproteins that cause atherosclerosis, the regression of atherosclerosis, and the development of novel imaging agents to non-invasively characterize atherosclerotic plaques.
