Edmund J. Bini, MD, MPH

In a further recognition of his national leadership in the field of gastroenterology, Dr. Edmund J. Bini has been named associate editor of the journal, Digestive Diseases and Sciences (DDS). DDS has been publishing for over 75 years and was recently selected as the official journal of the Gastroenterology Research Group.

In addition to DDS, Dr. Bini also serves on the editorial boards of the journals Gastroenterology, a leading journal in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, World Journal of Gastroenterology, and others. Dr. Bini also serves as a manuscript reviewer for numerous prestigious journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Archives of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology, and others.

Edmund J. Bini, MD, MPH is the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine. As the Director of Research in the Division of Gastroenterology at the NYU School of Medicine, Dr. Bini oversees all research activities in the Division, serves as a research mentor for fellows, residents, and medical students, and also finds appropriate mentors for individuals who are interested in research. His research interests include liver diseases (especially viral hepatitis), colorectal cancer screening, and outcomes research.
