Community Health Needs and Resources Assessments
As part of the Center’s continued efforts to better understand and address
health disparities in New York City's Asian American communities, CSAAH
has developed formative research projects through community specific
Community Health Needs and Resources Assessments.
The primary purposes of these assessments are to determine: the degree

South Asian, Korean and Chinese communities. In 2007 CSAAH will launch
its Community Health Needs and Resource Assessments with Japanese city-wide

Coalition-Building
CSAAH recognizes the importance of building partnerships and sustainable
coalitions for community mobilization that also create infrastructures
to conduct community-based participatory research. CSAAH has initiated
several ethnic-specific coalitions including:
CSAAH also works with researchers from within the NYU Medical Center, other academic institutions, and our community
partners to support research and pilot studies examining such areas
as communication in healthcare, organizational assessment, mental
health and service utilization, and the social and cultural contexts
of health for Asian Americans.
