Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Accreditation
NYU SoM has applied for accreditation of our Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). Accreditation is sought from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc.® (www.aahrpp.org).
This tutorial was designed to prepare the research community for the AAHRPP site visit week and should take approximately 2 hours to complete. Many of you will be interviewed during the site visit which will take place in the early August 2007. At this time, we are not certain who will be chosen for an onsite interview therefore we have created this tutorial to provide the research community with general information regarding the HRPP at NYU SoM.
You may be familiar with the information within this tutorial however it is important to refresh your understanding in case you are chosen for an AAHRPP interview.
Please note, during your interview the AAHRPP site visitors will be asking you questions to test your knowledge of not only federal regulations but specific NYU policies and procedures. The tutorial is broken down in 6 modules. Each section covers material relevant to the conduct of research with humans at NYU SoM and its affiliates and each section imparts valuable information that will assist you in answering questions during the interview process.
During this tutorial you will have to read brief overviews and answer questions. This tutorial also provides ‘tips’ – please make sure to read each of the tip sections. Additionally throughout the tutorial you will find Q&A sections which contain possible AAHRPP questions with some tips on how to answer to some of the questions. However, you should answer based on your own experience. You will not be able to go on to the next section if you do not read the ‘tips’ and "Q&A"
