Evaluation

I. Preamble

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requires a written set of policies and procedures for resident evaluation and for implementing corrective and/or disciplinary action when a resident's performance fails to meet required standards. This includes the criteria for any adverse action, such as placing a resident on probation or terminating a resident whose performance is unsatisfactory. The procedures are designed to be fair to residents, patients under care, and the training program and are applicable to all residents in training at New York University School of Medicine/NYU Hospitals Center ("NYU"). In this document, all references to residents shall include fellows.
