Osteoporosis

The NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Osteoporosis Center is located in the main hospital at 301 East 17th Street, Suite 1101. The Center offers a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis and other disorders that compromise bone integrity. The Center provides treatment programs for patients at risk for osteoporosis as well as for patients with established osteoporosis. The Center's Osteoporosis Interdisciplinary Study Group includes rheumatologists, orthopaedists, endocrinologists, physical therapists and other specialists who help define the optimal treatment regimen for each patient. Individually tailored exercise and physical therapy programs are often prescribed as part of that treatment program.

The Osteoporosis Center frequently offers enrollment in on-going clinical research projects where patients may choose to try investigational drug and non-drug approaches to the treatment of osteoporosis. In addition to the Osteoporosis Center located at the hospital, members of the Study Group have other offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn that may offer more convenient access to patients requiring evaluation and treatment for bone disorders
