Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Unit
Our Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Unit or CIIRP is
part of the Continuum of Care we offer here at NYU-HJD. This
Continuum of Care includes pre-surgical orientation classes
and training, acute surgical-medical care, inpatient rehabilitation
and outpatient therapy. A physiatrist prior to acceptance
to the rehabilitation program completes a pre-admission assessment
during your acute post surgical stay.
The NYU-HJD Orthopedic Rehabilitation Unit is
a center of excellence for rehabilitation of musculoskeletal
disorders and/or injuries including but not
limited to:
- Joint Replacement: Knee, Hip
- Revision of Joint Replacement
- Spinal surgery
- Fractures of the spine
and/or extremities, both surgical and non surgical intervention
- Orthopedic
procedure along with disabling medical and/or neurological
co-morbidities
- Acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain affecting
the spine and extremities
- Surgical Procedure due to congenital
musculoskeletal conditions
- Osteoarthritis/Degenerative Joint
Disease
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Major Multiple Trauma
- Work Related and/or
Sports Injuries
- Herniated and bulging discs
- Sciatica
- Scoliosis
- Spinal stenosis
- Vertebral compression
- Spondylolisthesis
- Myelopathy
- Amputations
