The In-Patient Pain Rehabilitation Program (IPRP), formally known as the Pain Program, is the behavioral component of the Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center. The Program, established in 1983, offers patients a new comprehensive team approach to the treatment of chronic pain.
While most people recover from pain caused by injury, surgery or disease, chronic pain sufferers tend to be caught within a vicious cycle of pain, depression and dysfunction. Their personal and professional lives are disrupted and their pursuit of successful treatments place unacceptably high cost burdens on the individual and the family.
The In-Patient Rehabilitation Program is a unique and effective multidisciplinary program modeled after the "holistic" program pioneered by Dr. John Bonica, the father of pain medicine. The Program’s main principle is to comprehensively treat the patient’s physical, psychological, social and behavioral ailments.
The Program has been nationally recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has been awarded a 3-year accreditation, the highest designation possible.
The Program remains the only comprehensive inpatient pain rehabilitation facility in the Tri-state area.
