The Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center is also instrumental in training of students from medicine, psychology, physical and occupational therapy and related fields.
Both Neurorehabilitation and Anesthesia Fellows from New York University rotate through the Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center and participate in assessment and treatment.
Clinical lectures are given throughout the year to NYU/HJD Orthopaedic Residents, NYU medical students, NYU psychiatry residents, and NYU Rheumatology residents and fellows on various topics including pain management, the use of antidepressants and pain medications in chronic pain, and biofeedback and hypnosis proceedures.
Rehabilitation Residents also rotate through the Center and participate in clinical care. (Various clinical lectures throughout the year are also provided.)
Practicum and Externship placement of psychology students from a variety of institutions are also offered. These institutions include Stern College, Hunter College, Barnard College, Fordham University and Cornell University and graduate institutions like Teacher College, Columbia University School of Public Health and Ferkauf Graduate School.
