His areas of clinical expertise include spinal injection techniques for diagnosis and treatment of pain syndromes including facet and epidural injections, radiofrequency rhizotomy, discography as well as implantable drug delivery systems and spinal cord stimulators.
Paul Gusmorino, M.D.

Dr. Paul Gusmorino is Chairman of Behavioral Medicine and Attending Physician at the Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center. As a board certified psychiatrist in adult and adolescent care and a behavioral medicine specialist, Dr. Gusmorino's expertise includes the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal pain and the physical and psychosocial disabilities in chronic pain patients. He is one of the original members of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Gusmorino has made frequent contributions to the literature in the form of book chapters, articles, and studies on analgesic, hypnotic, and panic disorder agents. He maintains an active role in both pain and psychiatric medical societies presentating at symposia and courses.

Dr. Isaac Pinter is the Administrative Director of the Pain Center and one of the founding members of the Inpatient Pain Rehabilitation Program. Dr. Pinter has been actively involved in the field of pain medicine and is a member of the American Pain Society and the International Association for the Study of Pain since 1983. Dr. Pinter has been involved in various research activities and publications in the area of pain. He has lectured extensively and presented seminars on pain to the Workers Compensation Board and its Administrative Law Judges, to numerous insurance companies, and at grand rounds.

Dr. Barry Snow is a Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Director of Research in the Pain Center at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. He has specialized training in biofeedback, hypnotherapy and stress management. Dr. Snow is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Health at Columbia University.
Steven A. King, M.D.,M.S.

Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center
Dr. King is an attending physician in the Comprehensive Pain Treatment Center and Clinical Professor at the NYU School of Medicine. He is a nationally recognized leader in the field of pain management. Dr. King is the author of over seventy articles and book chapters on various aspects of pain and served as a reviewer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines on the treatment of post-operative pain, cancer-related pain, and headaches. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he performed his residency. He subsequently completed a fellowship in pain management at the Pain Center at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, training in acupuncture at the International College of Acupuncture, and received an M.S. degree at Columbia University. In 1992, Dr. King was one of the first group of twenty physicians to take and pass the first board certification examination in the specialty of Pain Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pain Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist. Prior to joining the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Dr. King was Professor and Director of the Division of Pain Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
Dr. King is the author of the forthcoming textbook “Pain Management” to be published by Johns Hopkins University Press.
