Amateur Wrestlers to Have Access to Medical Center’s Sports Medicine, Musculoskeletal Expertise and Research

USA Wrestling, the national governing body for amateur wrestling in the United States, announced today that the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center is an official sponsor and medical consultant, through September 2014. USA Wrestling will have access to NYU Langone’s orthopaedic experts, including sports medicine specialists for medical consultation, treatment and access to a network of providers as appropriate for USA Wrestling athletes around the country – and during select domestic and international wrestling competitions.

Cardone, DO, clinical associate professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and sports medicine expert at NYU Langone Medical Center. “By combining the latest research, clinical and therapeutic science with our years of caring for conditions of the joint and muscle will help these players stay at the top of their game.”
The NYU Langone dedicated sports medicine program incorporates clinical, educational, and investigational aspects of athletic injuries to treat athletes playing at the high school, college and professional levels, as well as recreational athletes from every age group. One of the most recognized centers for musculoskeletal care, NYU Langone sports medicine experts perform more than 3,000 procedures each year, including arthroscopic procedures on the knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle as well as the latest in meniscal and cartilage reconstruction, rehabilitation and injection therapies.
