11-21. Slated to begin in February 2006, the group will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 5-6 PM. The central focus of the group will be coping with the unique challenges of being a young person with a disability. Other topics covered will include dating/socializing with a disability and dealing with academic and job challenges. The group is open to young adults only, and topics of discussion will cater to the needs and requests of group members. The MS Care Center social worker will lead the group, with various guest speakers visiting each month.
Non Spousal Caregivers – This monthly group is intended to provide education, support, and strategies to individuals who have a loved one with MS. The primary relationship to the person with MS is not that of spouse or significant other. Relationships and the ability to navigate as a “non spousal” caregiver is a different experience than that of a spouse. Therefore this group will be a welcome forum for children of, siblings of, parents of, and friends to individuals with MS.
