Facilities
Child Friendly, Family Focused
From the moment children walk into the Center for Children through the special designated entrance at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases they realize they have entered a kid-friendly zone.
Colorful walls and floors and a "white-coat-free" policy among the physicians helps to minimize anxiety among patients. State-of-the-art equipment and technology reassures parents that their children are receiving the very best care available.
This new facility was specifically designed with children in mind. It provides a circular interactive play area for patients with video games consoles, books, puzzles and televisions.
Scheduled activities like storytelling and crafts give patients something to look forward to on upcoming visits. Support group meetings for parents instill a sense of community at the Center.
An important attention to detail is obvious throughout the Center. All hallways and doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs, exam tables can be adjusted to different heights, and the examination rooms are decorated in soothing hues.
