Art Therapy
Art Therapy is based on the belief that the creative process involved in the making of art is healing and life-enhancing.
Family Fun Day
Hassenfeld hosts an annual summer Family Fun Day to give patients, siblings, parents, caregivers, family members, and Hassenfeld staff a chance to enjoy a day of fun off-site away from the clinic.
Horticulture (Plant) Therapy
Hassenfeld’s horticulture therapy program introduces patients and families to plant and gardening projects that build awareness of nature, science, nutrition, and environmental concepts.
Medical Play
Children of all ages are encouraged to play with “pretend” or actual medical equipment as a way of learning about the clinic environment and its procedures.
Music Therapy
Music therapists use music in a medical setting in order to address a person’s needs (physical, emotional, cognitive, and social).
Pet Therapy
Pet therapy offers patients and family members an incredibly rich therapeutic and healing experience. Visiting with a trained pet therapy dog helps children and adults alike relax, feel calmer, and express their feelings.
Reach Out and Read
Hassenfeld partners with Reach Out and Read to promote early literacy and reading, especially among its patients and their siblings between the ages of six months and five years of age.
