Student Interns
The Office of Government Affairs actively seeks part-time
students to serve as government affairs interns during the school
year, as well as during the summer and winter months. The Office
has had the pleasure of meeting a number of qualified students with
diverse backgrounds. Many of our past interns have gone on to graduate
school to study public health and/or law. Some of their responsibilities
include:
- Doing web- and text-based research for health-related
press releases and bills online.
- Researching and compiling information on issues
of general concern to the Medical Center, especially from various
online periodicals (the New York Times, the National
Journal, etc.).
- Conducting Internet searches for various federal,
state, and city legislation.
- Update and organize government affairs charts,
which assists in production of the Annual Report of the Office
of Government Affairs.
- Scheduling meetings between Members and NYU staff
here at the Medical Center or in Washington D.C/Albany.
- Assisting with press conferences or visits
by public officials.
