Art Day at The Children's Museum
On Sunday, January 22nd, FACES hosted Art Day at the Children’s Museum in lower Manhattan. Kids had a great time painting, playing, and working on mural projects that will be displayed at NYU offices in Staten Island. Our sincerest thanks go out to our helpful volunteers, Stacey and Neil Weiss and Monroe Bagel and Deli for donating delicious breakfast treats.
2006 Evening Lecture Series
The NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and FACES are proud to sponsor the 2nd Annual Evening Epilepsy Lecture Series for Parents and Adults. Doctors at NYU will personally conduct the lectures and take time to answer questions following each presentation. Refreshments will be served prior to each lecture.

FACES Gala 2006
On Monday, March 13, 2006, FACES held their annual Gala and Auction at Pier Sixty in the Chelsea Piers complex in New York City. The event was an enormous success, raising over $3 million for epilepsy research and clinical programs. FACES would like to extend their warmest thanks to Gala co-chairs Kate and Gianni Picco and Claudia and Harry Heller Falk for their outstanding vision and to all attendees, auction donors, contributors and, of course, our wonderful volunteers for their support throughout the event. Special thanks to Stephen Colbert, US Women's Olympic Ice Hockey Team goalie Chanda Gunn, Stone Phillips, Hugh Hildesley, and Andrew Cook for taking part in the evening's ceremonies. Seizures and Epilepsy Education (S.E.E.) Program
On March 18 and 19, FACES hosted the S.E.E. program at NYU Medical Center. Many parents and those affected by epilepsy found the seminar extremely helpful and encouraging as they deal with epilepsy. Speical thanks to Dr. Robert Mittan for presenting a wonderful and informative program.
Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus
On Sunday, April 8, 2006, FACES families enjoyed an evening at the circus at Madison Square Garden. Some families were treated to an extra bonus, enabling them to take in the show from the Morgan Stanley skybox. Our very special thanks to Sharon Perhac, Leanne Raesener, Morgan Stanley and Feld Entertainment for their ticket donations and generosity.
Mets Game 1
On June 19th, FACES families were treated to a Mets Game at Shea Stadium. Before the game, Dr. Souhel Najjar of the NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center was honored by Exceptional Parent Magazine, receiving their Maxwell J Schleifer Distinguished Service Award. Special thanks to Exceptional Parent Magazine for their generous donation.
Mets Game 2
On August 9th, friends of FACES attended a second New York Mets game at Shea Stadium where the Mets beat the San Diego Padres despite two home runs by former Met Mike Piazza. Many thanks to the New York Mets for their kind donation.
Yankees Game
On August 16th, Exceptional Parent Magazine donated tickets to FACES for a second ballgame, this time at Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees take on the Baltimore Orioles. Families had a great night out at the game on what was Exceptional Parent's second Disability Awareness Night in the New York ballparks.
Yankees Game 2
On Sunday, Spetember 3rd, the New York Yankees organization treated FACES to a great day at Yankee Stadium as the Yankees beat the Minnesota Twins. We extend our thanks to the New York Yankees for their kindness year after year.
Game Day at Chelsea Piers
On Sunday, October 15, 2006, FACES will host Game Day at Chelsea Piers for the second straight year. Children with epilepsy, their siblings and families will enjoy a free day of great sports activities to go along with arts and crafts, fun foods and, of course, games! 2006 Epilepsy Conference
On Sunday, November 5, 2006, FACES will host their annual epilepsy conference featuring lectures and other topics of interest to the epilepsy community. Once again the conference will feature Adult, Parent and Spanish lectures with the Epilepsy Foundation of America hosting an afternoon workshop focusing on ways to talk to your doctor about epilepsy.
