The Office of Education, Faculty and Academic Affairs has oversight for all programs of education and the management of faculty and academic affairs.
This includes all pre-college, medical, M.D./Ph.D., graduate, resident and continuing education programs at the School of Medicine. Viewing medical education as a continuum comprised in this fashion helps fulfill our mission of educating physicians who share a commitment to a lifetime of learning in the disciplines of medicine.
Faculty and academic affairs includes appointment, mentoring, promotion and management of the faculty, admissions, minority and multicultural affairs, and international programs.
Steven B. Abramson, M.D.
Senior Vice President and Vice Dean for Education, Faculty and Academic Affairs
Dr. Abramson is responsible for all of the activities of the Education, Faculty and Academic Affairs office. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Abramson earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School, and in 1974 arrived at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital for his internship. He is Professor of Medicine and Pathology, Director of the Division of Rheumatology, and Associate Dean for Clinical Research. |

Maddy joined the Office of Education, Faculty and Academic Affairs in October 2006, and has worked with Dr. Steven Abramson as his Assistant for over 15 years at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. |
