Will include current research on normal and abnormal swallowing, respiration and swallowing, instrumental asssment techniques (including MBS, FEES, FEEST, and TNE), management and treatment efficacy. The Department is pleased to welcome Arlene Neuman, Ph.D. to its faculty as Research Associate Professor. Dr. Neuman comes to NYU from City University of New York and specializes in hearing aid research.

The Department of Otolaryngology is pleased to welcome Mario Svirsky, Ph.D. to its faculty as the first Noel L. Cohen Professor of Hearing Science. Dr. Svirsky comes to NYU from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Svirsky is a leader in clinical outcomes of cochlear implants and speech processing strategies. Dr. Svirsky is also Editor-in-Chief for Ear & Hearing, the official journal of The American Auditory Society
