Three months of the senior year are reserved for elective rotations. Certain elective options are already established, such as the New York City Medical Examiner, International Emergency Medicine, and a variety of research options. Residents, in cooperation with faculty advisors and the program director, are encouraged to develop other electives in areas of interest within emergency medicine. Elective options are required to have defined educational goals and objectives along with a plan to achieve them.
