Jonathan Alger is Vice President and General Counsel at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He previously served as Assistant General Counsel at the University of Michigan, where he coordinated the University’s legal efforts in two landmark Supreme Court admissions cases. Mr. Alger will talk about the challenges facing the medical school, and universities in general, as they seek to provide educational opportunities for a broadly diverse student body while complying with the Supreme Court’s guidance. The presentation will include a discussion of current legal and practical issues related to admissions, financial aid, and outreach, recruitment, and retention programs.
