Congratulations:
To Miguel
Sanchez MD who was the eminently deserving recipient of a President's
award from the NYC Health & Hospital Corporation for his
many contributions to Bellevue Hospital.
1) The American Society of Dermatopathology is sponsoring
its 8th annual Duel in Dermatopathology competition for dermatology
and pathology residents. The competition will take place at the
44th annual ASDP meeting in Baltimore on October 18, 2007.
Abstracts are due by June 15th. Please consult the ASDP website
for details: www.asdp.org.
2) The American Society for Mohs Surgery is holding its 12th
annual Clinical Symposium, titled Dermatologic Surgery: Focus
on Skin Cancer, from May 24-27 in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
Additional information on the symposium can be found at www.mohssurgery.org.
3) The 21st Combined Skin Pathology Course will take place
this year from July 20-25 at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.

Reminder:
The 2007
Residents' Night Competition at the New York Academy of Medicine
will take place on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. The event is
jointly sponsored by the NY Academy and NY State Dermatology
Society and will be held at the New York Academy of Medicine
Headquarters on 103rd Street and 5th Avenue at 6:30 PM.
Any resident
interested in participating in the competition should submit their
name, title of their talk, and abstract to Erika Ihara by April
15.
Thanks to all
who made the March 30th Tribute to Irwin M. Freedberg MD such
a success -- including Doris Kai, Elise Kelman, Tiffany Tran,
our departmental administrator Paulina Koudellou as well as
the many speakers from within and outside NYU who came from across
the country to attend.
Those who were
unable to participate may wish to visit the departmental research
space on Smilow 4 and see the plaque as well as the beautiful series
of framed photographs from the Departmental historical archives,
