The Dermatopharmacology
Unit of the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology is located
in the Charles C. Harris Skin and Cancer Pavilion at the New York
University Medical Center. Established in the 1970s, the Unit has
developed into one of the nation's largest and most distinguished
clinical research centers in dermatology. Our mission is to advance
the understanding of inflammatory skin disease through patient care,
clinical research, and translational studies. The Unit is primarily
responsible for carrying out industry-sponsored clinical trials relating
to skin disease such as psoriasis, cutaneous t-cell lymphoma, pemphigus
vulgaris, and acne vulgaris. The unit is also involved in investigator
initiated studies addressing new therapies for a variety of skin diseases.
The Dermatopharmacology
Unit is currently under the direction of Bruce Strober, M.D., Ph.D.
and Jerome Shupack M.D., both full-time members of the academic
faculty at the New York University School of Medicine. Our staff
includes one clinical M.D. fellow, one clinical research nurse and
