Audrey Sorensen, RN is the Trials Coordinator for the Thoracic Surgery/Thoracic Oncology Research Program at New York University Clinical Cancer Center. She is a graduate of St. Vincent's Nursing School and has also received an associate degree in Marketing. Ms. Sorensen began her career as an operating room nurse over 20 years ago. She has been active in clinical research for more than 4 years, concentrating mostly with the execution of clinical trials with a smaller interest in investigator initiated research. She has created and maintained multiple databases and performed all aspects of regulatory submissions for many trials. As part of our commitment to providing state of the art treatments to our patients, New York University's Thoracic/Thoracic Oncology Department participates in many clinical trials as well as investigator driven trials. This participation allows us to assess new treatments, either surgical or medical, that possess the potential to improve each patient's outcome. As trials coordinator, Audrey will assist you with all aspects of treatment during your participation in a trial. She will ensure your eligibility and make sure all your needs and the needs of the clinical trial are met. Among other interests, Ms Sorensen donates her time bi-yearly to travel to a remote village in Guatemala, CA with a local physician group to provide medical and surgical care to those that would not receive it otherwise.
