Post-Surgical Care
During your hospitalization, a nurse practitioner will be assigned to you. The nurse practitioner will help coordinate the plan of care developed by the surgeon and is in contact with the surgeon regarding your status.
Cardiac Rehabilitation
From the time a patient requires cardiothoracic surgery, we are already begining to plan their recovery. During that process our rehabilitation team will be evaluating them. Please click on the link below to view a video on this process.Discharge
At the time of your discharge, a nurse practitioner will provide instructions on post-operative care, medications, diet, activity, incisional care, rehabilitation, and visiting nurse services when necessary. The nurse practitioner will also advise you of your follow-up visits with your surgeon and cardiologist.
