Research Overview

It is the goal of the Center, through the Research core, to reduce barriers to health care access and encourage utilization of prevention and treatment services. Assessments are performed to examine the specific health challenges in the Asian American community and specific health data on various issues are collected, including infectious diseases, cancer and chronic diseases as well as the role of language barriers.

The specific aims of the Research core are as follows:

• To develop a broad-based multi-disciplinary collaboration between physician-scientists, clinical and social epidemiologists, community-based providers in order to reduce health disparities in the Asian American community
