The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the nation's leading academic department for research, prevention and treatment of child and adolescent psychiatric and learning disorders. Through collaboration with our three main affiliates – Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research (NKI), Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center (RCPC), and Bellevue Hospital Center – we integrate the highest level of clinical care and ground-breaking research with training for the next generation of leaders in child and adolescent mental health.

• The Department is one of only two independent academic departments of child and adolescent psychiatry in the nation.
• The Department was designated as the only New York State Center of Excellence in Mental Health. With the support of the state and private philanthropy, the Department plans to open a new 120,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, uniting clinicians and researchers under one roof.
• The advanced residency in child and adolescent psychiatry is the largest single university program in the country, and along with our child and adolescent psychology internship track, is one of the most competitive mental health training programs in the world.
