Volunteering
Volunteers are an integral part of the programs offered through Child
Life. Together with staff members, they help to make the hospital environment
safe and welcoming for the children. Volunteers work both one on one,
and in the group setting, helping children while they participate in programs
such as music, arts and crafts, games, and the use of computers. For those
who cannot participate in group programs, volunteers visit at the bedside,
perhaps to read a book or play a game, or simply to sit with and comfort
a child. Volunteering opportunities are available seven days a week during
a range of hours in the day and evening.
