We Are
Located on the 9th floor of Tisch Hospital at NYU Medical Center, the
pediatric unit provides care for newborns-21 year olds. The 59-bed unit
serves children with a wide array of illnesses and provides specialized
care in cardiology, hematology, neurology, oncology, reconstructive and
general surgeries.
What We Do
Along with the nurses and doctors, Child Life Specialists, Recreation
and Creative Arts Therapists  work
on the unit to provide a safe environment for children to ask questions
and express their emotions. Child Life services
are designed to help children and their families become familiar with
the hospital environment and allay fears that often accompany a
stay in the medical center. Various programs are provided to meet
the emotional and developmental needs of the children.
