Clinical Responsibilities
Dr. Ludvig is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the NYU School of Medicine. His primary responsibility is the development of a novel intracranial device for the treatment of epilepsy: an implant named "hybrid neuroprosthesis", which he patented in 2002. He received his M.D. from University of Pecs Medical School, Hungary, and Ph.D. from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His postdoctoral training included several years of research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, University of California at Irvine, and University of Illinois. His main prior academic appointment was a Research Associate Professorship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Ludvig has published 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and 5 book chapters in the fields of epilepsy research and cognitive neuroscience, and has been an invited speaker at several international meetings. In his career, he received five grants from the National Institutes of Health and two from the National Science Foundation. Dr. Ludvig is a member of the Editorial Board of Brain Research Protocols and a recent recipient of the Dean's Award for Extramural Excellence at NYU School of Medicine.
