Will my insurance cover Cardiac CT Angiography?
Currently, all insurances do not cover this service. At the present time it is covered by Medicare and United HealthCare. Coverage is determined by your insurance carrier for Medical Necessity.

If my insurance will not cover the test, may I pay for it out-of-pocket?
You may pay out-of-pocket for this exam. You will be asked to sign a waiver that you understand that this service is not a covered service by your insurance carrier.

Do I need a prescription from my Doctor?
Yes. In addition, you will need to have a blood test within 30 days of the scheduled exam date. This blood test is called a “creatinine level”.

Is this the same test I saw on the Oprah Show?
Yes. In fact Oprah’s friend Gayle King was scanned in our East side facility. Also, Jill E. Jacobs, MD, NYU Associate Professor/Director of Cardiac Imaging appeared on the program.

Will I feel claustrophobic?
No

How long does the test take?
Plan to arrive 30 min. prior to your appt. time.

Will I be getting an injection?
Yes

How do I prepare for this test?
You will need to have a blood test within 30 days of your appointment date.  The blood test is called a creatinine level.
You will need to be fasting for 3hours before the test.

Will I be able to drive after the test?
Yes
