The Affordable Health Care Act: How to Prepare for Changes in Your Coverage

Description

Join us for a discussion about the short- and long-term effects of this bill, changes in insurance coverage, and access to preventive care and screening. Our experts will discuss how patients are being prepared for possible changes in coverage and what impact it will have. This program will touch upon what the bill means to people with a chronic disease such as cancer.

Lunch will be provided after the program. In collaboration with the Office of Business Affairs at Woodhull Medical Center, North Brooklyn Health Network

Electronic Cigarettes: Boon or Bane?

Electronic Cigarettes: Boon or Bane?

Description

There’s a relatively new product on the market, which is being promoted as a safer alternative to smoking. “E-cigarettes” are designed to look like “real” cigarettes and mimic the smoking experience while delivering the nicotine that smokers crave, but without the cancer-causing tar in regular cigarettes. Join us for a discussion led by two tobacco researchers to learn more about this product and what questions still need to be answered about its safety.
