1. Who can submit an event for posting?
Anyone with a Kerberos ID and charging privileges to a chartfield can submit an event, provided that both the ID and chartfield are valid.
2. Are there any content restrictions for postings?
All postings are moderated by the Office of Communications and final decisions on content will be made at their discretion.
3. Can images or other graphics be submitted with the request?
Not at this time.
4. Can an event that is less than one week away be submitted?
There is no cut-off date for submitting a request. However, requests submitted with short notice are not guaranteed to be posted.
Try to submit event posting requests as early as possible.
5. What's the maximum number of days an item can be posted?
An event can be posted for a maximum of 10 business days.
6. Can an event be posted on just one screen?
Postings can be requested as followed:
- To appear only on Clinical screens
- To appear only on Academic screens
- To appear on all screens
7. How many Plasma Screens are there and where are they all located?
There are 11 screens located throughout the NYU Langone Medical Center buildings.
Plasma Screen Billing Questions
1. How much does it cost to post an event?
Normally there is no charge for regular Plasma Screen event postings, however, special ads are dealt with on a case-by-case basis and usually cost from $500 to $1,000.
2. Why is there a charge for posting an event?
The posting fee goes towards maintaining the network of screens – including wiring, upgrades and repairs.
3. Are charges calculated by the amount of time requested or the actual run time of a posting?
The initial estimate provided is based on the request. However, the final amount charged to a chartfield will be calculated using actual run time information.
4. When will the chartfield be charged?
Since there is no way to determine the actual time an event is displayed until the event is no longer presented on the screen, the chartfield will not be charged until after your event date.
An event can be posted for a maximum of 10 business days.
