Fetal Brain Monitor Study: Enrolling pregnant women in the last trimester of pregnancy

Currently recruiting pregnant women volunteers who are in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, for a research project at the NYU School of Medicine and BHC. This study is to further the develpment development of a fetal brain monitor.

Most pregnant women are familiar with the use of the sonogram to image the fetus inutero and have had the opportunity to listen to the baby’s heartbeat through a stethoscope place on the abdomen or with the use of a fetal heart monitor. We believe that your baby’s brain can be monitored in much the same way and are developing a monitor to do just that.

The test is completely safe for you and your baby and only requires that a small monitor be placed on your stomach while sounds are played through small speakers held on your abdomen. You will be paid $75 for your time and it will take approximately 45 minutes to complete the test.

If you are interested in participating or in obtaining more information please call the Brain Research Laboratories at 212-263-6288 and identify the study in which you are interested (FBM).
