Clinical Responsibilities

Dr. Andy C. Fan is a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at the NYU School of Medicine and an attending gastroenterologist at the Great Neck practice of NYU Langone Medical Center.

Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Fan specializes in taking care of patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal issues. He has particular interest in therapeutic endoscopy. In addition to standard office-based upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and small bowel capsule endoscopy (Pillcam), he is adept in advanced endoscopic procedures including complex polypectomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and stricture dilatation. He has published articles in scientific journals, such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Mayo Clinic Proceedings.

Dr. Fan received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn after completing an accelerated combined BA-MD Honors program. He underwent his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Loyola University Medical Center, in Chicago.
