Neuropsychology Consultation Service

The Neuropsychology Consultation Service is the service referred to when a clinician in the Hospital has a question about the neuropsychological functioning of a patient.  Patients referred for neuropsychological testing may be psychiatric patients or medical patients, inpatients or outpatients.  Externs on this service receive training in the administration, scoring and interpretation of a variety of neuropsychological instruments.  They evaluate patients presenting with a wide range of neurological, medical and psychiatric conditions. They will receive close, individual supervision from licensed staff neuropsychologists, and participate in two to three weekly case conferences.

Training Period and Time Commitment:
Summer (June-August) and Academic Year (September-June) externships available.  A minimum of three mornings or two full days a week required.

Qualifications:
Open to doctoral students of any level with experience administering tests of intellectual functioning.  Prior neuropsychological testing background is desirable but not required.  Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.
