Greetings to the entire alumni family! This year´s Medical Alumni Reunion on Saturday, April 12th will have a new format. We´ll begin with a CME program, which will include presentations by this year´s recipients of the Solomon A. Berson Medical Alumni Achievement Awards. Joel D. Oppenheim, Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean for Biomedical Sciences will start off the morning as Moderator and we´ll hear from Daniel B. Rifkin, Ph.D., Professor of Cell Biology and Charles Aden Poindexter Professor of Medicine on "Basic Research and Translation to the Clinic: Marfan Syndrome as a Potential Success Story.”
This will be followed by a discussion of the “Status of Gene Therapy at NYU Medical Center” by Daniel Meruelo, Ph.D., Professor of Pathology and Director of Gene Therapy. After sitting down with our classmates for a celebratory luncheon, we´ll have an opportunity to check out the alumni art show, attend the Alumni Association Business Meeting, and take a tour of our campus led by current medical students. The Alumni Reunion Ball, later that evening, should be great fun and is taking place at the beautiful Union League Club.
