U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals" 2013-2014
NYU Langone has been recognized on the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals 2013-2014 Honor Roll” as a top hospital in the country, and nationally ranked in 12 specialties, including top ten rankings in Geriatrics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation, and Rheumatology.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, U.S. News ranked NYU Langone number two in New York State and number two in the New York metro area for being a high performing hospital.
University Healthsystem Consortium Quality and Accountability Performance Scorecard
NYU Langone ranked eighth among the top academic medical centers in the country for patient safety and quality on the University HealthSystem Consortium's “2012 Quality and Accountability Performance Scorecard.” We achieved five stars for overall performance, and ranked number one in effectiveness and equity.
Castle Connolly “America’s Top Doctors”
Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. recognized 130 physicians at NYU Langone Medical Center as nationally leading medical experts in the 11th edition of “America's Top Doctors.” Additionally, 371 physicians were recognized among the leading doctors in the region in Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors: New York Metro Area 2012 guide.

New York magazine’s 2013 “Best Doctors” listing named 126 physicians at NYU Langone among New York’s finest practitioners.

Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission
NYU Langone received the 2013 Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, reflecting our commitment to high-quality care.

Magnet Recognition
NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases, Tisch Hospital, and Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine are designated Magnet® sites for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice.
The Magnet® Recognition Program, the leading source of successful nursing practices and strategies worldwide, is an honor achieved by fewer than 6 percent of all U.S. hospitals.
Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities
In 2009, the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone was for reaccredited for a three-year period by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Adults), Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Pediatric Specialty Program), and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital: Stroke Specialty Program (Adults).
Additionally, NYU Langone’s Hospital for Joint Diseases was reaccredited in Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Adults) and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital: Brain Injury Program (Adults).
Becker’s Hospital Review
Becker’s Hospital Review recognizes NYU Langone as an outstanding hospital for women’s health programs on its “100 Hospitals with Great Women's Health Programs” 2012 listing. NYU Langone is also included on Becker’s “101 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs” and “101 Hospitals with Great Spine and Neurosurgery Programs” 2012 listings. We ranked in the top 1 percent of all orthopaedic programs in the country, according to Becker’s Hospital Review “60 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs” 2011 listing.
NYU Cancer Institute, our National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center that offers state-of-the-art care and services, was also included on Becker’s “70 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs” 2012 listing.

The Leapfrog Group
NYU Langone Medical Center was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety ScoreSM for the past two years by The Leapfrog Group for excellence in patient safety – one of only two hospitals in New York City given this recognition.
Nigara Health Quality Coalition
NYU Langone has been a recipient of the Niagara Health Quality Coalition’s (NHQC) New York State Hospital Report Card Honor Roll for patient safety and quality in 2009, 2010, and 2011. We have also been recognized on 2011 NHQC America’s Safest HospitalsSM list, honoring hospitals that performed better than the state average in New York.
Thomson Reuters 50 Top Cardio Hospitals 2012
NYU Langone is a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals 2012 Award winner – the only hospital in New York State with this distinction.

American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
NYU Langone received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s 2013 “Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure” Gold Performance Achievement Award for its ongoing commitment to the high-level, consistent care of its heart failure patients using the latest clinical and scientific, evidence-based guidelines supported by the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.

The Comprehensive Stroke Care Center at NYU Langone received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s 2013 “Get With the Guidelines®- Stroke” Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award for its adherence to national quality achievement indicators and measures of quality established by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. NYU Langone also achieved Gold Performance in 2012 and 2011.

Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs Inc.
NYU School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone, is committed to the most comprehensive protections for research participants and the highest quality research. Our Human Research Protections Program has been awarded full accreditation by the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs Inc.
New York City Department of Health Bronze Star
The New York City Department of Health awarded NYU Langone with a Bronze Star in 2012 for its achievements in tobacco control.
National Association of Epilepsy Centers
NYU Langone’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is recognized in 2012 by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers as a Level 4 epilepsy center. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
