Castle Connolly “America’s Top Doctors”

130 physicians at NYU Langone Medical Center were recognized as nationally leading medical experts by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. in the 11th edition of “America's Top Doctors.” Additionally, 371 physicians were recognized among the leading doctors in the region by Castle Connolly in its Top Doctors: New York Metro Area 2012 guide.

Received 2010 Gold Seal of Approval by The Joint Commission, reflecting our commitment to high-quality care

Magnet Recognition

Tisch Hospital and Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine were redesignated as Magnet sites for nursing excellence, a distinction earned by fewer than 6% of all U.S. hospitals
 

CARF Accreditation

In 2009, the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center was for reaccredited for a three-year period by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Adults), Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Pediatric Specialty Program), and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital: Stroke Specialty Program (Adults). The Hospital for Joint Diseases at NYU Langone Medical Center was reaccredited in Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital (Adults) and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs - Hospital: Brain Injury Program (Adults).
 

Nigara Health Quality Coalition

Recipient of the Niagara Health Quality Coalition’s (NHQC) New York State Hospital Report Card Honor Roll for patient safety and quality in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Also recognized on 2011 NHQC America’s Safest Hospitals (SM) list, honoring hospitals that performed better than the state average in New York.

NYU Langone Medical Center receives Bronze Star from the Department's Tobacco-Free Hospitals Campaign. NYU Langone Medical Center’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers’ (NAEC) as a Level 4 epilepsy center. Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level medical and surgical evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.
