The program is a one-year ACGME-accredited clinical experience to prepare
candidates for certification of "added qualifications" in geriatric
psychiatry given by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The
fellowship includes rotations in acute and long-term care facilities
including Tisch Hospital, Bellevue Hospital Center, Manhattan Psychiatric
Center, and other long-term care facilities. Outpatient experience includes
crisis intervention and continuing psychotherapy.
A weekly didactic series throughout the year includes many clinical
and research faculty. The program can extend beyond one year and include
more research training, depending on the applicant's interests.
